Enjoy a weekend of wine, culinary, and artistry with winemaker Wes Steffens at the luxury, all-inclusive Brush Creek Ranch. “Seven” being a number of luck in western culture, while “eight” follows the meanings of prosperity and happiness in eastern culture — Vineyard 7 & 8 is the culmination of the family’s pursuit of producing fine wines. In the early 1980s, the Steffens Family planted eight acres of each Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay atop Spring Mountain in Napa Valley, where they continue to sustainably grow premium grapes and craft wines with a true sense of place.

Thursday, August 8 – Meet the Winemaker Reception

4:00 PM at the Saloon at Lodge & Spa

Toast to the beginning of a wine weekend with Vineyard 7 & 8. Meet winemaker Wes and enjoy the summer sunset with a glass in hand.

Friday, August 9 – Horseback Riding & Wine Tasting

1:30 PM at Lodge & Spa

Saddle up alongside Wesley for a leisure horseback trail ride through pristine Wyoming landscapes to a picturesque garden for a private wine tasting.

Friday, August 9 – Astrophotography & Wine Tasting

9:00 PM at Lodge & Spa

Join Wes as he guides you through an evening of artistry with his two passions of wine and night photography and witness incredible stargazing with the help of low-light pollution from our remote location. Tripods will be available for smartphones, but digital cameras are recommended for the best outcome.

Saturday, August 10 – 5-Course Wine Pairing Dinner

6:00 PM at The Farm

Experience a gourmet wine pairing dinner in the intimate setting of The Farm’s wine cellar, holding one of the top 10 largest wine collections in the world. Indulge in five courses featuring the culinary artistry of the chefs of Cheyenne Club, as Wes guides you through his personal wine selections for the evening.

$250 Per Person, Plus Gratuity. Open Reservations.

Meet Winemaker Wesley Steffens

Wesley’s journey in the Napa Valley began in 2001 after graduating from the Culinary Institute of America. Spending nearly two years working for Thomas Keller at The French Laundry, Wesley focused on expanding upon his passion for food and wine. In 2002 Wes began as a harvest intern at Harlan Estate Winery where he gained a deep appreciation and understanding of the winemaking process. After four years as a member of the winemaking team at Harlan Estate and BOND Estates wineries, Wes’ journey then led him up Spring Mountain to Vineyard 7 & 8 where he took the reins of his family’s dream.

Surrounded by a word-class team, Wesley serves as the Winemaker & Estate Director. In these roles, he focuses on the constant quest for not only the utmost in wine quality but also growing the awareness of the brand and providing a premiere guest experience.
